gallery Observational Study
My early training as an artist grew out of painting on location. It is a practice I'm still engaged in. My observational art is not focused on "faithful" renditions of what I see. I will adjust lines, shapes and colors to find a satisfying interpretation of my surroundings. I use observational work to invigorate my imagery and my studio practice. While watercolor is my old friend outdoors, I may also use oil paint and drawing media for observational works as well.
